WWE began the Holiday Tour 2024 with a couple of live events that occurred simultaneously. Madison Square Garden hosted the Raw show, while SmackDown's stars took Jacksonville. The stellar event of the latter presented a seemingly miraculous return after an injury.

Cody Rhodes returned less than two weeks after Kevin Owens applied a Piledriver package after his fight at Saturday Night's Main Event. WWE had announced that The American Nightmare was diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical column, as well as with a cervical distension with spasm.

Despite this, Rhodes returned to the live event tonight, interrupting a promotion of Kevin Owens.

The two proceeded to have a Steel Cage Match for the WWE undisputed championship, which was won by Cody after escaping the cage seconds before Ko did.

While he has already returned to the ring, he remains to be seen if Cody Rhodes will appear in the SmackDown episode of this week. Given the injury he suffered, it is possible that the 18 -year -old veteran is out of television for a few weeks.

Even in history, a severe spinal injury would result in a prolonged absence. Randy Orton has not been seen since Kevin Owens injured him almost two months ago.
