After achieving a historic victory against Maroszan in Wimbledon, Jaume Munar, That for the first time he accesses third round of a Grand Slam, spoke with the Spanish media present in London (among them, brand), and discussed one of the themes of the week, opened by Zverev and commented by almost all the tennis players of the contest: Mental health
The Balearic left a long reflection on what is the case and how the demand for a very complicated circuit and calendar lives. These were his words:
“The reality is that in these issues, the first of all, I like to be understanding, because I see it from the position that the player sees him … and I understand that hard, fucked moments pass. I have spent many throughout my career, what I am not is to comment. One has to first understand the essence of our sport: a very demanding individual sport, a ranking that is stepping on your heels continuously because the points come and go … and then a calendar that is hard, is a reality. It is hard not at the level of playing in tennis, it is hard to travel constantly, the adaptation periods, the little time you have at home, the little vital enjoyment that you have at the family and personal level compared to a person from another area.
It is hard to travel constantly, the adaptation periods, the little time you have at home, the little vital enjoyment that you have at a family and personal level
And all that I have commented must be put in the balance with the difficulty of what we do, but we must also put it with the gratitude that gives you, with the economic situation you live, with the luck you have to enjoy what you like most and then, above all, to fulfill dreams, which I think is a reality that we all start. With which It is a very difficult balance to balance.
As a player I understand, and it happened to me, that there are times when you get on the dark side, it is difficult to weigh everything … But you have to be aware and have sufficient maturity to understand that good times and bad people live in life and tennis, and I take it that way.
You have to be aware and have sufficient maturity to understand that good times and bad people live in life and tennis
Now, you have to be realistic. We have a super beautiful life, but at the same time it is a complicated life because it does not let you combine it with other aspects of life that I understand as fundamental, such as the personal part, the family part. And sometimes having that sport-life conciliation is not so simple. That is what I think people have trouble understanding. Everything else is everything positive. We live well, we have all the luxuries, we make money, we do what we like … that is, if you go purely to the material, we have a luxury life. But obviously there is a mental part and inner gratitude that is also complemented with other things, which for me in that case is the family and personal part, and we must not leave it aside. And sometimes, with our life, it becomes difficult. “
