Vince McMahon is known for his chaotic creative process, often known for breaking scripts on the same day of shows and forcing rewritures. Several former WWE writers brought their stories to Rolling Stoneunder the veil of anonymity to protect itself from the negative reactions of McMahon, WWE or wrestling fans in general, and the frantic rain of Rain of Ideas from McMahon was a topic of discussion.

“When he arrived on Monday and we were all at the production meeting, something else was going to happen,” a former WWE anonymous writer told the magazine. “It almost looked like a joke, as if we were there just to satisfy Vince's whims. We were all transcribers of Vince McMahon.”

The writer does not believe that none of McMahon's changes has emerged in good faith. Instead, he believes that McMahon exercised his creative veto power as a way of controlling the room.

“I think Vince liked to manipulate us,” added the screenwriter. “He liked to change things. He liked to keep people alert. I honestly, I felt that this was not to benefit the program or history, Vince really likes to make people feel uncomfortable.”

The article continues to describe the WWE's writing works as something far from the typical work from 9 to 5, since the McMahon travel schedule and other executive tasks meant that meetings could often extend until high hours of the night.

McMahon has not been in command of the creative process of the WWE since approximately 2023, when the executives of Endeavor and Tko Group Holdings backed the WWE content director, Paul “Triple H” mild, who has had an almost constant presence on WWE television since he took the creative reins.

McMahon is currently waiting for the results of a federal investigation into accusations of inappropriate sexual behavior, abuse and traffic by former legal assistant Janel Grant.
