

Bruce Prichard worked closely with the former WWE president, Vince McMahon, in ideas for the plot before Wrestlemania 7. The creative team member recently revealed details about the security concerns surrounding Sergeant Slaughter before the event.
In 1990, WWE took advantage of Kuwait's invasion by Iraq by converting the American Slaughter character on screen into an Iraqi sympathizer. The plot resulted in Hogan defeating the member of the Hall of Fame in Wrestlemania 7 in 1991 to win the WWE Championship.

Slaughter's Pro-Irak character was one of the most despised in the history of WWE. He often mentioned the name of Saddam Hussein on television and even claimed to have received boots from the former Iraqi leader as a gift.
