When he was planning to get out of the retirement for a last fight, Mick Foley considered MJF as his opponent.

Foley announced earlier this year that he was considering having one last fight for his 60th birthday in 2025. But Foley canceled those plans After suffering a brain commotion while he only did a light training. During an appearance in la Nickel City Comic Con This summer, Foley declared that, if he had continued with the idea, he would probably have chosen MJF as his opponent.

“When I was thinking of having that last fight, I will tell you one thing: when I announced that intention, there were no lack of people from all the promotions that contacted me. And a boy with whom I would probably had chosen because I had clearly thought about it and planned six great weeks for television was MJF,” said Foley.

“We did not take a photo together because we did not want to ruin the secret meeting, but I heard what I had to say and I liked it a lot. I had no doubt that I would have achieved it perfectly. It is so good and is at its best that I could have worked on my weaknesses and have taken advantage of my strengths. And I think we could have done something great. MJF. Final answer.”

Foley had been considering having one last struggle as a way of motivating to lose weight. He would have had a Death Match stipulation. When he mentioned the idea for the first time, Foley mentioned Matt Cardona and Jon Moxley as possible opponents.

If Foley had had the fight, it would have been his first time fighting since his appearance at WWE Royal Rumble 2012. He was included in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

Foley said in the comic with Nickel City that hip replacement in 2017 helped improve his quality of life. I didn't want to run that risk fighting again.
