The 'KPOP' or Korean bands of this genre have been one of the biggest apogees in the music industry of recent years, with millions of fans who can now look towards Latin America and their new band, Los Santos Bravos, a group that will be formed through a reality show created by Hybe Latin America, a subsidiary of the representation agency of the Asian BTS group.
“It is bringing a system to a completely different market, although we are still in a very initial phase. Extract the best of Korean culture and install it in America (…) We are not trying to create a K-Pop group, we want to do something that is authentic,” said Jessica Kwon, training director of Hybe Latin America.
One of the main novelties of this project is the process of selecting the band members, which has included Singers from the United States, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina; A mixture of identities so that all Spanish -speaking fans identify.
“Not everyone speaks Spanish, but everyone falls into those Latin songs of Karol G o Daddy Yankee that reach all corners (…) The idea is to build a universe and that young and emerging talent comes, talent that you want to swallow the world, “said Jaime Solano, showrunner of the program.
This Santos Bravos project will be “for Latin America fans,” Kwon herself pointed out, and will allow followers to respond to their tastes, since they can see through the show how their favorite characters progress, although it will be the company who decides the six of 16 members who will definitely become part of the band.
In addition, for step it was “very important” to share the stories of these young Latinos “who have had social experiences, but that dream” and talk about “Latin values” that demonstrate when they leave these problems “together as brothers in the face of adversity.”
Another novelty that will bring the band fans closer will be all the interactive and face -to -face activities with which they can feel one more member of the band, which will allow their followers to visit in Mexico City the building in which they are working (Refinery Museum).
From studies to record your own songs, screens with the choreographies of their favorite dancers or even a visit with virtual reality to the private area of the facilities where they train are some of the activities that Mexican fans can enjoy.
The culmen of the program will also take place in the Mexican capital on October 21, in a private event held in the National Auditorium – one of the most important in the country – in which the final members will be announced and the first theme of the band will be presented, in which they are already working.
