During a recent interview in Refin’ It Up, “The Queen of The Carolinas” recalls their experiences in the company:

“My experiences there… all this was before they were bought by WWE, so it does not reflect what they are now. They could have changed much. I have not worked with them in many years. But my experiences with them were not incredible. I never talked directly to Dorian (Roldán), I always dealt with Konnan, and I remember a conversation in which they told me: 'Tessa, we cannot pay you more than this', and it was practically crumbs compared to what I charged in the United States. I understood. I thought: 'It's fine. Maybe we can reach an agreement. I would love to fight at Madison Square Garden with you, I would love to do a triplemania, I would love to be the first American to win the AAA Women's Championship. They are things that I would love to achieve. '

And we had several conversations about it. I remember the night I won the Triplemanía Championship. It was a stairs fight with several participants, and Taya (Valkyrie) and we were in the midst of a rivalry. Konnan told me: 'Tessa, you are not of mine. They are my people '. And he commented on me all the time. Then there were situations like on the bus with AAA, where they did not stop so that women could go to the bathroom. Silly things like, I don't know, if you are in your days and you need to stop. Stupid situations that made everything much more difficult. But for me, the curriculum is important, and I thought: I want to make history here in Mexico.

“I walked away from wrestling. I divorced during that period and my ex told me: 'You will never return to Mexico. You just had success in Mexico for me '. And I believed it for a long time, because he was a great star there, and somehow it was my entry to AAA. And I am very grateful for that, because thanks to that I could make history in Mexico. ”
