England coach, Sarina Wiegman, said Saturday that they will do “the possible” for winning the Eurocup final against Spain this Sunday at the St. Jakob-Park Stadium in Basel.
“We want to play well and we don't want to lose our nerves. It is a very competitive tournament and every game is difficult, I'm glad to have passed and get here. One wants to do well, entering a final is something very special. It is not pressure, it is something special. I live it like that, we are happy to be in the final and we will do our best to win it,” he said at the previous press conference.
England has measured Spain twice this year in the League of Nations and the Dutch coach said that these matches are always learned, although this Sunday is a new situation.
“We have the opportunity to exploit the weaknesses we believe they have. You cannot focus on the past, it is a new game and present new challenges,” he said.
In that sense, Wiegman, who has won the last two editions of the tournament with Netherlands and England, said they want to be as prepared as possible.
“We try to prepare what can happen in the game, how the team is configured, what we need. We consider all situations and during the game is a matter of sensations and have permanent contact with the coaching staff,” he said.
