The Prosecutor's Office of Nanterre (France) on Friday requested the appearance before the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine of the Moroccan international of the PSG Achraf Hakimi for the alleged violation, which the player denies, of a woman in 2023, said the Public Ministry, asked by the AFP.
“Now it is up to the instructor magistrate to make his decision,” said the Prosecutor's Office of Nanterre (Periphery of Paris), confirming information from the newspaper Le Parisien.
The 26-year-old PSG player had been investigated for rape and put under judicial control in 2023, after being accused by a young woman of having raped her at her home in Boulogne-Billancourt (Periphery of Paris) a few days before.
At the end of February 2023, the young woman had come to a police station, where she declared to have been violated, but without making formal complaint.
He explained that he met Achraf Hakimi in January 2023 on the Instagram social network and that he went to his home in a VTC (transport vehicles with driver) commanded by the player, a police source indicated at that time.
The woman affirmed that Hakimi had kissed her and that she performed touches without her consent before violating her, according to the same source.
“Extortion attempt”
He added that she managed to get rid of him and that a friend, whom she contacted by SMS, came to pick her up.
Contacted by the AFP, the player's lawyer, Fanny Colin, estimated that this request is “incomprehensible and meaningless in view of the dosier elements.”
Achraf Hakimi maintains his version, firmly denialing the young woman's accusations.
According to lawyer Colin, her client was “subject to an attempt to extortion”, ensuring that the woman's statements are “false.”
Formed at Real Madrid, Hakimi was one of the architects of the great 2022 World Cup in the selection of Morocco, a semifinalist at the Catar event. He arrived at PSG in 2021, where he is one of the team's captains, after having passed through Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.
Son of a cleaner and a street vendor, both Moroccans and installed in Spain since the 1980s, the player was born in the town of Getafe, on the periphery of Madrid.
Reputed for its speed, its verticality and its passes, it is considered one of the best rights of the world.
Last May, Achraf Hakimi received the Marc-Vivien-Foé award, which designates the best African Ligue 1 player.
It was also fundamental for the Champions League conquest for the PSG, scoring the first goal of the final on May 31 against Inter Milan, its former club.
