For many fans, the preparation for WrestleMania 41 has been disappointing, with WWE's narrative under triple H in recent months leaving many fans longing for the days of Vince McMahon.
Instead of obtaining triple meaningless threat and a medium billboard strategy that, in the best case, could be considered acceptable, WWE's creative team should have scheduled dream fights that hardcore fans of the fight would really really enjoy.
Here are the real dream fights that Triple H should have programmed for Wrestlemania 41.
The Rock vs. Roman Reigns
WWE has hinted tensions between The Rock and his cousin, Roman Reigns, for years, going back to his awkward reaction after the latter's victory in the Royal Rumble of 2015.
The story of The Bloodline has been in the center of WWE in recent years, but the company erroneously decided to move away from it during the most critical moment of the year. Instead of programming Reigns in a Battle of three meaningless, the Final Boss should be facing.
Reigns is a constant interpreter in main events that has taken the opportunities that WWE presented to him and has run with them. Even if he wins against CM Punk and Seth Rollins in Wrestlemania 41, there is no growth for his character.
Reigns should be fighting the rock for the main position in the family. The two men seemed to be ongoing collision in all their previous interactions, and not capitalizing on that impulse in Wrestlemania 41 was a serious mistake.
CM Punk vs. John Cena
When programming dream fights, a great warning is that it is a meeting for the first time. In this case, however, a John Dinner recently turned into Heel should face the fans CM Punk at the star event in Las Vegas this weekend.
Punk and dinner have a legendary story, with Punk's summer and his victory in Money in the Bank 2011 being one of the best moments in the company's history. This time, however, the encounter would see the inverted roles.
Triple H and company should have scheduled Punk to beat Cody Rhodes for WWE's undisputed championship at Royal Rumble, preparing the eventual combat between Cena and the new headline on Sunday at the Allegiant Stadium.
What better way for dinner to win your seventeenth world championship that beating Punk in Wrestlemania and coming out among the crowd, just as Punk did it with Cena does all those years?
Rhea Ripley vs. Stephanie Vaquer
In theory, Io Sky defending his World Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair should be an incredible fight, but the story that leads to him has been, in the best case, mediocre.
Belair was very involved in a team with Naomi and Jade Cargill, while Ripley spent much of the last year trapped in a story with The Judgment Day. At the last moment, Triple H gives Sky and strength to Belair in the equation.
For fans of the fight that prefer a better narrative, this triple threat does not give in white.
Ripley should never have lost the championship against Sky and, on the other hand, should be facing Nxt Stephanie Vaquer's superstar.
Not only would the battle stand out better to Vaquer all the NXT brand, but also give fans a confrontation they have never seen before.
Ripley and Belair deserve something much better in Wrestlemania.
