Monterrey complicated Inter and rescued a draw at the Club World Cup

With the defensive strength at the bottom of Stefan Medina and the spark in Nelson Deossa's attack in the second half, Rayados signed a 1-1 draw against the 'Nerazzurri' in the international contest.

Monterrey planted the Inter Milan face and went out with his forehead. In its debut in Group C of the 2025 Club World Cup, the Mexican team signed a 1-1 draw in Pasadena against a rival of weight, in a match in which it demonstrated order, character and moments of great football.

Sergio Ramos was the absolute leader of Dome Torrent's team. With his experience and command voice, he ordered a defense that at times was a wall. Inter reacted late, but stuck. At the close of the first half, a prefabricated play left Monterrey's behind, and Lautaro Martínez only had to push it for 1-1. The referee reviewed a possible out of place, but finally validated the goal.

The second part was intense. Monterrey suffered, but also generated danger. Canales was centimeters to sign the second with a left -footed shot that crashed in the post, and Nelson Deossa, who entered in the 58th minute, was one of the most effective revulsions: a choice, daring and with fresh legs to damage inside. In the last of the game, he touched the goal with a powerful shot that passed near the stick, in a play where Bastoni held him inside the area without sanction of the referee.

As for the other Colombians, Stefan Medina returned to comply as a silent leader in the defensive line, always attentive and solid in the brand. Johan Rojas had a brief but intense income in the final stretch, adding to the offensive block and providing fresh legs in the minutes of maximum tension.

Inter, on the other hand, was uncomfortable, without clarity in the last third and frustrated before the good approach of Mexicans. Lautaro missed a clear occasion and Dimarco tried from afar, but Rayados resisted with order and heart.

The point is worth gold for Monterrey. Not only for the rival, but for how he got it: with personality, solidity and moments of tactical brilliance. The club World Cup just begins, but this draw is already celebrated as a small feat.
