Marc Márquez is breaking all barriers this season in MotoGP. The Spanish pilot already caresses his seventh title in the queen category, although there are still nine major awards. In Austria he got a new milestone, with which he consolidates his domain in this campaign, since he added his sixth consecutive double, winning the sprint and the race. It was also his first triumph in the Red Bull Ring.

Since the races to the Sprint were introduced in 2023, no one had managed to win six large awards in a row, with the careers of Saturday and Sunday. Until Márquez He has achieved this weekend. His triumph in Austria adds to those who had already pocketed in Aragon, Italy, Netherlands, Germany y Czech Republic.

In them, Márquez has achieved all the points, the 37 that can be achieved at most in each Grand Prix. Something that allows him to be at the head of the World Cup classification and have a solid advantage over the second, his brother Alex, who already takes out 142 points. In fact, Marc has only won this season five times.

In the race of the GP of the Americas he retired, in Jerez's ended, in France he was second and in Britain he finished second in the Sprint and third in the race. In the rest, he has not had a rival. However, it cannot be said that we are facing the best Márquez always, since in 2014 he won 10 consecutive races, although then there were no Saturday races.

That season, in which he achieved his second MotoGP world championship, Márquez managed to win 13 of the 18 races. He took the first 10, until he cut the streak in Brno, finishing room. Nor did he win in San Marino –15º–, Aragon –13–, Japan –2º– and Australia, where he retired. He ended up an outrage at Rossi in 67 points.

Márquez is Márquez again

This season, Márquez wants to resemble that motorcyclist who dominated with iron hand until 2019 in the queen category. And, for the moment, he is getting it. It was then that they began their problems in the humerus of their right arm. After several operations, Cervera sends on the tracks again. He does it with Ducati, with whom he has fly again to set up to his seventh MotoGP World Cup, to which those achieved in Moto2 and Moto3 should be added.

In addition, he has managed to win for the first time in one of the few circuits resisting. The Catalan has been imposed in Austria and there are only three circuits that he has not won. Ducati's has not yet achieved triumphs in Portimao, Indonesia or in the new Hungary Grand Prix, which opens this course and will be the next one that is celebrated.
