How are you living this comic-with?
“I am fine, brother. I have good health, I am with a mental space and very blessed to be here in the San Diego Comic-with again. Two years in a row. This feels more special.”
Do you feel that this year is different?
“Much has happened in the last year, I assure you.”
Collaboration with Reebok and Allen Iiverson
How did you achieve collaboration with Reebok and the Iiverson line?
“That was not me.
They let me choose the model, I chose the Answer 3. I could give my opinion in color and add personal things: my logo, references to my music ('Big Pressure'), details with meaning. I did not want to remove the logo of Iiverson because this is his shoe, I am only invited. It was important to show admiration for him.
It was a 10 -month process. Everything was based on the concept of when I won the championship, that people saw it and immediately understood the meaning. It is a piece of history that you can carry with you on your feet. What flew my mind was that Iiverson shared the post promoting collaboration. Many expect to see how it works before supporting it, but at noon it was already the number one shoe in Champs. Then he published it. Then he even tried to talk to me on the phone, but he was on a flight. I failed to catch it, but they told me that he is happy and satisfied with everything. ”
Music and creative projects
What comes in the future for you?
“The music is going very well. I have study sessions with producers, I was on call with Boi-1da, I also worked with the Missy Elliot composition team in Miami. That should leave between the late 2025 or early 2026. I like to create in silence. When things come out, people think it happened suddenly, but in reality I have been working in them for months. Plant seeds in different places, let the universe work and suddenly sprout several things at the same time.
Encounters and experiences with celebrities
Any special moment recently?
“I was invited by Bun B to a private golf event. There I met 50 Cent, Barry Bonds, Nick Saban, Tim Tebow, Terrell Owens, Travis Scott, Dj Khaled … It was like a 'Who is who is who is who' Incredible.
With people like that, I do not try to make 'pitch' of anything, just connect as a person. I hope I remember my name and that conversation. Many times the directors and artists work with those who like them, like Adam Sandler who has been with the friends themselves. It's a matter of making a positive impression. “
Cinema and future collaborations
Will we see you in film/series projects?
“Who knows. I have friends close to James Gunn, I even worked with Steve Blackheart in a horror movie ('Stiletto') and he is intimate of Gunn. Manifest and being present is key.
Determination and mentality
What keeps you going?
“What keeps me is what I have not yet done. It is never enough, I never comfort myself, I always want more. It is what reveals me but also what inspires me to look for new ways of achieving things.
They told me that the whole panel of this year in Comic-with was built around me, and that surprised me. It is a will to my determination and to be stubborn with my creativity. I know it works, although nobody has done it before. You have to bet on yourself all day. “
