Denmark Foreign Minister cited the United States diplomatic representative in Copenhagen, after knowing a report that indicates that US citizens would have executed covered operations in Greenland.
The Danish public station Dr cited Fuentes who claimed that the objective was to infiltrate Greenlands society and promote the secession of the territory of Denmark to join the United States, although he could not clarify who these people worked for.
Danish intelligence services warned that Greenland was being target of “various types of influence campaigns.”
“Any attempt to interfere with the internal affairs of the Kingdom (from Denmark) will, of course, unacceptable,” said Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen.
Therefore, the Danish government summoned the US business manager.
The BBC contacted the United States Embassy and the State Department to request comments.
However, the US president, Donald Trump, has expressed several times his intention to annex Greenland, a semi -automated territory of the kingdom of Denmark.
For his part, Vice President JD Vance accuses Copenhague of investing little in that territory.
“Another country cannot be attached,” warned the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, to the United States in a visit to Greenland a few months ago.
Denmark Foreign Minister told the BBC that the Government was “aware that foreign actors continue to show interest in Greenland and its position in the kingdom of Denmark.”
“Therefore, it is not surprising that we experience external attempts to influence the future of the kingdom,” he added.
Nearby allies
Denmark is a member of NATO and the European Union and, for a long time, considers the United States as one of its closest allies. The Danes have been shocked by Trump's determination to control their semi -automotive territory.
The US president declared this year that he would not rule out taking it by force.
Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service (PET) stated in its evaluation that influence campaigns would have as its objective “to create discord in the relationship between Denmark and Greenland.”
This could be achieved by encouraging “existing or invented disagreements”, either with “traditional and physical influence agents or by misinformation,” he added. PET claimed to have reinforced his presence in Greenland and cooperation with his authorities.
The United States does not currently have an ambassador to Copenhagen, so Rasmussen summoned Mark Stroh, who is the highest ranking diplomat in the Danish capital as a business manager.
Lars Lokke Rasmussen had already convened previously to the US business manager in Denmark this year, in response to an independent report published in May that suggested that American espionage agencies had been ordered to focus their efforts in Greenland.

A secession movement
The public radio report detailed an American visit to Nuuk, the capital of Groenland, who said he was looking to compile a list of Greenlandes who support the United States attempts to take control of the island.
The objective would be to try to recruit them for a secessionist movement, said dr.
An previous May report, published by the Wall Street Journal He informed about the interest in the independence movement of Greenland and about the perception in the territory of the extraction of minerals by the United States.
At that time, the United States National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, did not denied the report, but accused the newspaper of “violating the law and undermining the security and democracy of our nation.”
Greenland maintains a complex relationship with Denmark. Despite having a wide self -government since 1979, its foreign and defense policy has been defined in Copenhagen.
While most of their political parties are in favor of independence, they disagree on the speed with which they must drive it. Although the Greenlanders have the right to convene a referendum since 2009, the surveys suggest that the vast majority do not want to be part of the United States.

“Diplomatic yellow card”
When the American vice president, JD Vance, visited an American military base on the island in March, he accused Denmark of not doing enough to keep the American troops and the Greenlanders safe from Russia, China and other countries that, according to him, would be interested in their potential mineral wealth and naval routes in the Arctic.
However, the Greenlandic leader, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, made it clear in May that the United States would not appropriate the territory.
“We don't belong to anyone else. We decided our own future,” he said.
The recent decision of the Danish Foreign Minister to convene the US business manager constitutes an unprecedented “diplomatic yellow card” in Denmark's relations with the United States, according to Jens Ladoefoged Mortensen, a researcher at the University of Copenhagen.
“This hostile attitude towards Denmark by the Trump administration is shocking,” he told the BBC. “As a American country, we wonder why they do this.”

Wind energy in the sights
One of Denmark's largest companies was in the spotlight of the US government in recent days, after the order to stop the construction of a large wind farm off the coast of Rhode Island.
The Revolution Wind project, with an 80%advance, is managed by Orsted, the Danish multinational promoter of wind farms that belong to the Danish state in 50.1%.
This is the last wind energy initiative paralyzed by President Donald Trump, who declared last week: “We are not betting on wind energy.”
On Monday, Orsted's actions collapsed 16% in response to the order of suspension of works, although since then the company has recovered part of the losses.
The company claims to have installed 45 of the 65 turbines of the project, whose objective is to supply energy to 350,000 homes.
