Colombia celebrated its first gold medal at the Singapore 2025 paranatation World Cup thanks to the brilliant performance of Carlos Daniel Serrano. The Santander won the 100 meters chest S7 with a time of 01: 16.02.

“Again world champion after these 9 months of injury, in my test, the 100 meters chest and with a giant effort (…) today more than ever, what a pride to be Colombian,” said Serrano, 27, in his social networks.

The Santandereano, national reference for adapted sport, in addition to more than a dozen medals in world championships accumulates two golds, four silver and four bronzes in Paralympic Games.

The triumph has a special flavor, because at the beginning of the year its sports future became at risk. “I have never liked the no. This Wednesday will continue the national participation with David Rendón in the 400 meters free S6 and Sara Vargas in the 100 meters back S7, evidence in which the Colombian delegation aims to increase its metal harvest.
