The activist Reyes Rigo (on the left in the photograph), the only Spanish member of the Global Sumud Flotilla who is still arrested in Israel, has reached an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office of the Negev region to be deported back to Spain. This is how they transferred it from the Spanish consulate to Rigo's brother this Friday, the councilor of Unidas Podemos in Palma City Council, Lucía Muñoz, who traveled in the flotilla with the activist held in Israel, explained to Europa Press.
Rigo's family is now waiting to contact the lawyer defending her and pay the fine, the amount of which is currently unknown, so that the activist can be deported back to Spain.
According to Muñoz, by virtue of the agreement with the Prosecutor's Office, Rigo has admitted a minor attack and in self-defense against an Israeli official, the reason why she was not deported along with the rest of the Spaniards who were arrested on October 1 when they were traveling aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla with aid for Gaza.
The agreement with the Prosecutor's Office of the Negev region has come shortly after he filed charges against the Spanish woman and requested that she remain in preventive detention. According to the Israeli Police, after the investigation was concluded, an indictment had been presented in the Ber Sheva peace court against Rigo. Specifically, he was accused, according to the Police, of having refused to enter a cell and of having attacked a guard at the Keziot prison by biting her hand, which caused injuries. The events would have occurred last Sunday.
