There is already a date for the oral trial for the hiring of Pedro Sánchez's brother in the Badajoz Provincial Council. The Provincial Court has set it for February 9 to 14. The regional secretary of the PSOE, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, will also sit on the bench, who by then will have revalidated his record as an autonomous deputy and will be qualified as the socialist candidate in the elections to the Extremadura Regional Government on December 21, and nine other people.

Judge Beatriz Biedma concluded the investigation last Tuesday and sent the case to the Court, which has appointed Judge Emilio Serrano Molera as rapporteur, known for being the judge in the case of the murder of Manuela Chavero, the neighbor who disappeared in Monesterio (Badajoz).

Both David Sánchez and Gallardo are accused of prevarication and influence peddling. The accusations, led by Clean Hands, ask for three years in prison for both.

The musician's lawyer presented his defense brief on Monday and requested his free acquittal, understanding that there was no crime. In his brief of provisional conclusions, lawyer Emilio Cortés insists that there has not been proven, “not even indicatively, influence with a criminal bias” in the creation or adjudication of the administrative processes investigated.

Furthermore, Sánchez requests that the emails intercepted by the UCO in the case be excluded from the documentary evidence, considering that the judicial authorization “injured the fundamental rights of those investigated.”

The regional secretary of the PSOE, who was president of the Badajoz Provincial Council when the brother of the president of the Government was hired as head of the institution's conservatories, also asked for his free acquittal. In his writing, he assures that he did not know the musician when he was hired, that Pedro Sánchez did not have organic positions in the PSOE at that time and that in the primaries he supported his opponent, Susana Díaz.
