Jey will use Gunther for the Heavy World Championship in Wrestlemania 41 on April 19 and 20. In a recent episode of his podcast, the former general manager of WWE RAW, Eric Bischoff, explained why the title might not change hands.
On February 1, Jey use surprisingly exceeded 29 competitors to win the Men's Royal Rumble. The character of the 39 -year -old has suffered a crisis of trust since he selected Gunther as his opponent in Wrestlemania. The ring general, on the contrary, possibly looks more confident than ever.
Based on how the storyline has developed, Bischoff said in 83 Weeks that WWE's high controls could be wise to keep the title with Gunther:
“Especially if he is heating, and they are writing it, producing to be stronger, and is fulfilling the expectation and surpassing it, then perhaps the plan was to take the title, but I think the money is always when you have a hot heel (keep them as a champion).” (1:20:25 – 1:20:43)
Gunther has maintained the heavy world championship since he defeated Damian Priest in Summerslam 2024. He has retained the title in televised fighting against Priest, Finn Balor, Jey Use, Randy Orton and Sami Zayn.
Eric Bischoff about when Jey use could dethrone Gunther
On March 31, Gunther defeated Jimmy use in a fight without a title in RAW. He then tied Jey use the middle rope and forced him to see how he let his twin brother bleed.
According to Eric Bischoff, WWE could earn more money with this storyline if fans have to wait beyond Wrestlemania so that Jey defeats Gunther:
“Have you ever bought something you really thought you wanted, and then you get it and it is no longer so important? (1:22:17 – 1:22:44)
Bischoff also explained why John Cena was wrong to refer to the passage of Cody Rhodes by AEW in the episode of March 31 of RAW.
