CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will face Wrestlemania 41 on April 19 and 20. In a recent episode of a podcast, the member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Eric Bischoff, questioned the logic behind combat programming.
The episode of March 21 by SmackDown ended with punk, Reigns and Rollins fighting next to the ring after months of animosity among the three men. After the show, WWE content director, Triple H, confirmed that they will face a triple threat fight in Las Vegas.
Before the fight was officialized, Bischoff said in his podcast 83 Weeks that the fighting of three men often lack narrative:
“I think that the fighting of three, I have said it many times in this program, in my opinion, they are an easy way out. Unless there are three really good stories that need to collide in the ring to get to an end, it is just an attraction. It is an excuse to put big names in the ring, to have headlines, so to speak, from a promotional point of view. (11:40 – 12:05)
The preparation of the WrestleMania 41 combat has largely revolved around CM Punk eliminating Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins of the Royal Male Rumble of 2025. Moments later, a furious Rollins attacked both men next to the ring.

According to Eric Bischoff, Wrestlemania 41's fight will not take any of the three men to the next level, regardless of the result.
The former WCW president also reiterated that fighters rarely benefit from competing in triple threat fighting.
“How would they benefit from being in the ring together from a point of view of perception?” Bischoff continued. “The short answer is that they will not. They won't because they are already at a very high level. Roman Reigns will become more popular as a result of being in this fight, unless there is a strange ending? Rollins? Punk? No. (12:37 – 13:04)
Bischoff also suggested a surprise name as a possible new member of the John Cena and The Rock Villain Group.
