The NWO is possibly the greatest faction in the history of professional wrestling. The veteran of the Disco Inferno struggle recently suggested that WWE reintroduces the group with new members.
In the mid -90s, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan formed the NWO on WCW. The group found enormous success during the following years, adding many more members, including members of the Hall of Fame such as Sting, Randy Savage and Eric Bischoff. Although Nash, Hall and Hogan moved to WWE as the NWO after Vince McMahon bought WCW, they were not so successful. Although the group dissolved in 2002, they had some meetings in the last two decades.
Speaking in the podcast Keepin’ It 100Konnan, a former NWO member, and Inferno discussed the possibility of reforming the New World Order in WWE as Rey Mysterio did with the LWO. The former WCW cruise champion suggested four names to become the possible members of the new faction. He pointed out that Brock Lesnar could also join the faction if he returns:
“(Who are your five boys, disc?) Braun (Strowman), Bron Breakker, Charlotte (Flair), Finn Balor. (…) would also include Brock Lesnar if he returns,” he said. (From 04:40 to 05:50)
Where are the five WWE superstars now?
Four of the five suggested members for a new NWO potential are currently active in World Wrestling Entertainment. Braun Strowman was involved in a rivalry with Jacob Fatu during the last weeks in SmackDown. Meanwhile, Finn Balor will now challenge Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship in RAW.
While Brock Lesnar is still absent since his last appearance in August 2023, Charlotte Flair returned earlier this year after more than a year to win the Royal Rumble Women's fight. Now he will face face to face against WWE female champion, Tiffany Stratton, in Wrestlemania 41.
It would be interesting to see if the company based in Stamford reintroduces the NWO one day.
