The former WWE main writer, Vince Russo, recently shared his thoughts on John Cena's programming. The star is currently on her farewell tour.
R-Truth and Cena met at Saturday Night's Main Event XXXIX in a combat without title at stake. Truth wanted to make her “hero.” However, Cena hit him with a low blow before covering it for the account of three.
This week in Legion of RAWVince Russo said the WWE got into a dead end with the confrontation between Cena and Truth. He pointed out that the idea behind this fight was to consolidate dinner as a despicable heel. However, Russo felt that WWE failed to generate rejection of the last real champion because fans supported him for defeated his opponent.
The veteran writer considered that the result of the fight between R-Truth and John Cena was a complete failure of the creative team.
“I am thinking of typical writing and programming. I think they organized everything about R-Truth in the PLE to generate rejection of dinner. Everyone wants R-Truth, generating sympathy for babyface, rejection of dinner. I thought that is why they organized it. Dinner did not generate any rejection with R-truth. Now I think why. Because if I had begun to generate rejection with Truth Fans? Now they know what fans would have done. (From the 17:22 minute onwards)
At the end of the program, Cody Rhodes appeared and launched a challenge to John Cena and Logan Paul for team fight in Money in the Bank 2025. Cody will have Jey use on his side.
