The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, today encouraged theories about a possible amaño of the general elections, following the statements of the former president of the government José María Aznar. “He is accredited that Sánchez and his companions partly stood the primary, is accredited that they like fraud and have committed it,” Feijóo said during an interview in Esradio.
In an interview this weekend, Aznar said that “when one is able to adulterate elections in his party, why will he not be able to alter general elections?” Aznar alludes to the conversations intervened by the Civil Guard, which reveal orders from Santos Cerdán to Koldo to aim “as they have voted” two people and adds: “without anyone seeing you and put the two ballots”, without explaining to whom they were voting, in the primaries that Sanchez won by 16,000 votes of difference.
Feijóo has said the same phrase as Aznar: “If one has stolen a jewelry store why a bank cannot steal,” and added: “It is evident that this issue exists”, in response to the question of Federico Jiménez Losantos about whether the PP had planned any plan to supervise the elections, because, according to him, “it is difficult to steal the elections but not impossible.”
“I have been president of Correos and I have no doubts about the officials, but that the system can have some gaps, and that to torticate that system is not completely armored, the answer is that yes,” said Feijóo, who says they have proposed to the Electoral Board to “supervise” the entire process, which already does: “There must be guarantees that we have to extreme to the maximum.”
“Knowing the character we have in La Moncloa, knowing that Mrs. Leire Díez, who presumed to organize the vote by mail, will understand that the emails that I met, of the emails in which I have worked, to the emails of the former head of the cabinet of Sánchez and Leire there is a big difference,” said Feijóo.
Correos already clarified in a statement that Leire Díez, who held the position of director of Philately and institutional relations in the public company, “was never responsible for the vote by mail” in the general elections of July 23, 2023, nor “in any electoral call.” She also denied having been in charge of the vote by mail.
The PP usually resorts to the bulos on the manipulation of the votes by mail and the hypothetical electoral fraud committed in the elections of July 23, 2023, those after which Feijóo was only four seats to govern by Vox's hand. Then it was the candidate himself who encouraged the conspiracy.
A few days ago, the national spokesman of the party, Borja Sémper, said that the PP “does not doubt” “officials” and “wallets and wallets.” And expressly asked about the concrete doubts they have in the party, or for the mechanisms that could have allowed that mass fraud, did not want to point them out.
