John Cena successfully defended his WWE undisputed universal championship on Saturday against Randy Orton at Backlash's Premium Live event, and the program also hinted who his next opponent could be.

According to Cory Hays, Cena could be facing one of his most loyal and passionate fans, R-Truth, at the next saturday Night's Main Event event.

“R-Truth is scheduled to face her 'childhood hero' John Cena very soon. Let's say, in 2 weeks,” said Hays.

The event will take place in Tampa, Florida, on May 24, 2025, where WWE heavyweight world champion, Jey Use, is also ready to put his title at play against Logan Paul.

R-Truth, a dinner life fan, interacted with him recently behind the scene in the April 25 edition of “Wwe SmackDown”, where Cena ignored his number one fan despite receiving only praise from his part.

In Backlash, Truth went out to the ring and received an RKO from Orton, and later he was discussed with commentator Michael Cole about dinner goodness, since Truth still believes that Cena is a good person and his hero. The signs of a confrontation between Cena and Truth settled at the press conference after Backlash, where Truth interrupted Cena, which led to the veteran star was thrown through the Conference table after Cena hit him with an attitude Adjustment.

R-Truth was incredulous when Cena took a Heel turn at the Premium Live event of Elimination Chamber earlier this year, since he questioned why everyone was becoming against the 17 times world champion. Truth and Cena, throughout their careers, have formed team and have faced each other in individual fighting, with their last individual combat between them occurring in 2011.
