The return of Hulk Hogan to the WWE during the premiere of Monday Night Raw in Netflix on January 6 did not come out as planned. Despite praising fans and promoting their real American Beer product along with their manager Jimmy Hart, the wrestling legend was received with sound boos. The reaction has caused discussions worldwide of wrestling, and the former chief of Hogan, Eric Bischoff, said about the situation.

In his podcast, Bischoff attributed the reaction of the crowd to the perception of Hogan's political alignment, in particular his association with Donald Trump.

“If you have not spent much time in California, in particular in Los Angeles or San Francisco, you will have heard all the stories about how liberal it is and all that. But until you have been there and you realize the intensely liberal and democratic that is California, you may not think that this could be the reason why they booed Hulk,” Bischoff explained.

Continuous:

“Hulk and Trump are united by the hip now, in the eyes of many. At least publicly, given the participation of Hulk and, of course, there will be some negative reactions in California. You cannot surprise you, you cannot surprise you. You can be disappointed, but you cannot surprise yourself.”

As reported, the polarizing reaction has caused the WWE to reconsider Hogan's participation in future promotions. While the association with Real American Beer is still intact, it is said that the company is exploring alternative talents for sponsorships. For now, Hogan's role in WWE marketing initiatives can face some changes while evaluating how to better manage public feeling.

Hulk Hogan's debut may not have come out as planned, but Eric Bischoff's opinion adds another layer to the conversation. You agree or not with its assessment, one thing is clear: Hogan's public perception is as complicated as ever. While the WWE evaluates its next steps, the question remains: What awaits Hulkster in the current wrestling panorama? This story is far from finishing.
