Vince McMahon and WWE will always be related. The company may have distanced from the former president, but the billionaire will always be linked to the largest wrestling company in the world, since many events, concepts, types of fighting and other characteristics were created by McMahon himself. Now another distinctive feature is being revealed that is being eliminated in the new era.
JBL had the idea of Tribute to The Troops, and Mr. McMahon loved it. The co-creators presented the first TTTT event at Christmas 2003, recorded from Camp Victory in Iraq. It was transmitted as special RAW and SmackDown to the first independent special in 2008. VINCE claimed to bring the recordings to the troops that served in Iraq and Afghanistan until the events moved to the United States in 2010, in or near military bases. WWE made a great Tribute show to the troops, with Vince and the superstars visiting army hospitals, soldiers' families, and more.
The last Tribute to the Troops was broadcast live on December 8, 2023, as a special episode of SmackDown from the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. The Christmas season spent this year without any advertise to the troops. It is now said that World Wrestling Entertainment has silently eliminated this favorite tradition of fans created by McMahon and Layfield.
Several sources have reported that WWE has silenced Tribute to the troops aside. Fightful Select adds that this was largely a McMahon project, and when he left power, format and feeling around TTTT they changed drastically.
Currently, WWE has no plans to continue with the Tribute to the Troops specials. It was noted that this is something that the company could resume later, especially if there is a great advantage in bringing back the concept. Although there is nothing confirmed for the future, it was reiterated that managers will resume TTT if they see the benefit of doing so.
The god of wrestling created the concept, and then the former president continued with tradition for more than two decades. TTTT was described as something very important for Vince and JBL, and something they wanted to do every year.
WWE performed 21 Episodes of Tribute to the Troops, with only one that was never transmitted: the 2019 edition from two bases of the Marines Corps in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The inaugural event in 2003 was headed by John Cena defeating Big Show, while the end in 2023 presented the Knight and Randy Orton defeating only Sikoa and Jimmy use in the star event.
Updated alignment for the first WWE ple in 2025
World Wrestling Entertainment is less than a month after presenting the first 20 PLE of 2025. The 38th Royal Rumble event will take place on Saturday, February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, in. The updated alignment is shown below:
- Royal Rumble female: 30 participants to confirm
- Royal Rumble Male: The Knight, John Cena and 28 more participants to confirm
- Staircase combat for the undisputed championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens (The main title and Winged Eagle belt will be hung on the ring)
John Cena has also been confirmed for the Royal Rumble after his Del Crurations at WWE RAW. CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Bayley and Bianca Belair are also announced by WWE.
