Baron Corbin was after racks during AEW Worlds End 2024. However, there is an unfortunate update about his future.

Baron Corbin was once a promising star in WWE's main roster. It seemed that the company had great plans for him when he won the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2017 and also defeated Kurt Angle in the last retirement fight of the latter. However, everything collapsed since then. A second stage in NXT did little to relive his career, and was released from the company earlier this year.

Recently it was reported that Corbin was after racks at AEW Worlds End 2024 along with AJ Francis and Tyler Breeze, which generated speculation that Tony Khan's promotion could be interested in these three WWE ex -stars.

However, Sean Ross Sapp reported on his podcast Fightful Select Q&A He has not heard that AEW is interested in Corbin, Francis or Breeze. He also noted that TNA has been impressed with AJ's performances in the last year.

“I have not heard that AEW has a particular interest in any of them, but I do know that Aj Francis impressed some people within TNA, especially where he was a year ago and what they expected of him.”

Vince Russo commented on the release of Baron Corbin

While Baron Corbin was never the main star on WWE, it seemed that the headquarters in Stamford had a plan regarding him. However, he never managed to connect at all, despite the fact that the company reinvented him several times during his career. In the end, the Lone Wolf was released from the promotion.

During a recent Pódcast episode The Wrestling Outlawspresented by Dr. Chris Featherstone, Vince Russo said that Corbin was released because people inside WWE felt he was smarter and more mature than them, which did not help his cause. He also remembered having thought that Corbin had the potential to be a great star the first time he saw him.

“EC3 has also fallen into this trap. When you get to WWE, if you know you are smarter than them, that is not good. That is going to play against you. Corbin always seemed a little older, a little more intelligent, a little more mature. I know he was in the NFL. And they don't like that. (4:37 – 5:42)

It will be interesting to see what the future holds Baron Corbin in regards to wrestling.
