Money is always a factor when determining where a fighter wants to work, but other factors (such as schedule, creative freedom and even the quality of opponents) can also influence that decision. When AEW signed the WWE Sasha Banks female champion at the beginning of this year, expectations were high, especially considering that the agreement made her the best paid woman in the history of wrestling.
But some say that Banks, who now calls Mercedes Mone, has given less than he has given during his time in AEW. In “Busted Open Radio“, Ric Flair coincided with the coanfitations of the program in which one is as good as the opponents they give him. Pointing out the lack of stars in other parts of the female division, the two -time member of the WWE Hall of Fame suggested that Banks could wish to return to WWE one day, where the best opponents are.
“He has the mentality that he can do what he wants, because he is very good,” Flair said about Mone, whom he still refers to Sasha Banks. “It's the truth. I think, ultimately, he will return to WWE.”
Flair placed Mone on the upper step of the talents that can “remain at the top” for 10 years or more, comparing it with Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, John Cena and Randy Orton.
“If we look at the last 10 years, what Sasha has been able to do … names the boys who can stay at the top for 10 years,” he said. “Never step back. Always in the main event. Whether they win or lose, they are in the stellar event.”
Mone has spent much of 2024 getting victories against medium level talents. Monter defeated Dr. Britt Baker, possibly the second most important female star in the company, in her only confrontation in All In London 2024. Many believe that the confrontation lacked the preparation she deserved. Meanwhile, Mone does not have a fight in the next AEW PPV, World's End, at the time of writing this article.
Ric Flair suffered a heart attack in his last fight
Ric Flair suffered a heart attack during his last fight held in 2022, something he discovered almost two years later. He spoke with Bert Kreischer en Something's Burning and revealed his medical accident in Ric Flair's last fight .
Flair told him about his heart attack and how a doctor discovered him during a recent medical check -up. Flair thought he was dehydrated.
“Two months ago I learned that I had suffered a heart attack without knowing that I had suffered it,” said Ric Flair. “They made me a cardiac test, the whole process, the whole test. The doctor entered, made me wait, right? And he entered, sat down, crossed my legs and asked me:” How do you feel? “
