Zack Sabre Jr. was proclaimed again holder of the Campeonato Mundial of Peso Completo IWGPbending a Hirooki Goto.
► Sabre would recover the scepter he lost 4 months ago
This happened during the semifinal fight of the “Tanahashi Jam” event held at the Gymnasium prefectural Aichi, where Goto and Sabre saw their faces again.
After defending the title eight times, Goto finally fell. Zack completed his attack on the arm, defeating the monarch by arrest of the rener and recovering the IWGP full weight world championship for the first time in approximately four months.
Goto, and the former champion Sabre faced the belt at the Ontario event on May 9, but the fight ended in a double fall. The decision was postponed. Subsequently, Goto defeated Shingo Takagi with his new technique, Goto Revolution, at the Osaka Castle Hall event on June 15, achieving his seventh defense. After the fight, Zack Sabre Jr. called him behind the scenes and proposed a new duel. The challenger demanded that it be held as soon as possible to the G1 Climax, and it was decided that it was the first fight of the double star event of the function produced by Tanahashi.
As soon as the Gong sounded, the public began to chant “Goto.” This was the third fight against one of the year, after the Osaka tournament of February 11, where Goto won the belt, both began to predict the result from the beginning. His great movements were in vain. They continued to take care of each other after that, but Zack caught Goto's right arm with a key to the arm near the strings. From there, he took the lead with a concentrated attack on his right arm, gradually cornering the fierce Guerrero.
The fight continued unbalanced, but Goto, who did not give up, knocked Sabre with a loop, announcing his counterattack. The public also supported him by chanting his name. Goto launched a series of background attacks, and even when he was caught in a key to the arm, he managed to escape and inflict great damage with the usshigoroshi. Take the front in the fight of blows and try the GTR, but Sabre impacted it with a Zack Driver, and both are unsuspecting.
While both tried desperately to stand up, Goto returned to the offensive with a neckbreaker drop, immobilizing Sabre's legs against the corner. He launched a low drop in the face and continued with a GTW. He reinforced his grip on Sabre with a sleeping key and prepared for a final offensive. Sabre failed and looked for a Japanese Leg Roll Clutch. As in the Ontario tournament, the combatants ended up in a double fall position, but both raised their shoulders and the fight continued.
Goto continued rolling, but I knew he saw him come and caught him with a key to the arm. He went to another key to the arm and then modified the punishment to violate more damage. Goto shouted and was about to surrender. He tried to grab Goto's leg, but he barely reached the rope. The public exploded in cheers to the monarch.
Sabre stepped on Goto's right elbow, leaving his unusable arm. Even after being thrown against the strings, Goto collapsed by the pain in the arm. Even so, with a fierce expression, he asked Réferi Umari to continue combat. Despite fighting Sabre's kicks, he connected a loop with his left arm, and the public began to chant Goto's new account.
Goto countered Sabre's attempt from a Zack Driver and applied a single blow GTR, but his right arm hurt and collapsed. He could not achieve three immediately. On the other hand, Sabre kicked Goto's right arm to move him away from the fallen position, and he stayed upright despite receiving a series of Goto ties on his left arm. Sabre also connected a bond followed by a Driver knowledge. Zack, who did not look for Pinfall, continued with a modified driver knowledge with immobilized legs. When Goto kicked at the last moment, he applied a key to the left arm.
Goto opposed desperate resistance, but he knew perfectly entangled his left arm, grabbed his right arm and applied a Clarkie Cat. He even grabbed Goto's legs and applied a strangulation, and although Goto did not give up, he considered him dangerous and stopped the fight. Zack Sabre Jr. took the victory.
Hirooki Goto lost the throne and leadership he had during these months. Established a record of seven successful defenses. After celebrating the Sabre result he revealed to the fallen Goto and shook the hand of Fujinami, who saw the fight from the commentators' cabin.
