A former WWE Suprestrial expressed his interest in possibly appearing at the Royal Rumble 2025. Nic Nemeth, better known as Dolph Ziggler, has been fighting for Tna Wrestling and other promotions since he was released last September.
Nemeth was in WWE for 19 years, starting his career at Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2004. It was originally called as part of the Spirit Squad with the name of Nicky before redembuting as Ziggler in 2008. He is twice heavyweight world weight champion, once NXT champion, six times intercontinental champion and twice champion of the United States.
The Showoff was released a few days after the Official Foundation of the TKO Group on September 12, 2023. He has been fighting in Tna Wrestling, as well as in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and AAA in Mexico.
“A place in the rumble? Friend, that would be great. Wwe is doing incredible now. Doing something fun, using my old costumes, putting ancient music, going out and kicking someone on the face, would be impressive. But the most important thing would be to create a viral moment, to be able to talk about TNA. That would be the only reason I would do it. It would be great to see some old friends,” said Nemeth. Royal Rumble 2025 is scheduled for February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. If Nic Nemeth appears in the fight, he will join Mickie James and Jordynne Grace as TNA champions who participate in the Royal Rumble.
Nic Nemeth had a remaining year and a half in his contract when Wwe released him
In the same interview with the Daily StarNic Nemeth revealed that he requested his wwe's release. Nemeth explained that he still had a year and a half of contract, but wanted to explore the fight outside the company and become world champion elsewhere.
“I said, 'I don't know how much more I am a credible world champion for any other company. They could be five more years, they could be two, they could be ten, I don't know. But being here charging a check and working five minutes a week is not helping WWE, and surely he is not helping me,” said Nemeth. (9:30 – 9:48)
Since its release, Nic Nemeth has won the MEGA AAA Championship in Mexico, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in Japan and the WSW Worldweight World Championship in Australia. He is also the current world champion of TNA.
