Rikishi does not go with rodeos (nor is his words save) when it comes to The blows with the girl of Nia Jax in Survivor Series . In his podcast Off The Top Rope the member of the WWE Hall of Fame lashed out at Raw's former female champion, describing his “mediocre” blows and leaving fans excited about criticism.
“As a fighter, I will tell you a thing. Like Samoan, you have to launch that damn thing,” Rikishi said, questioning if Jax ever received adequate training on how to give a convincing chair blow during his development days in WWE.
“It almost looked like a touch of love,” he added. “I don't feel that she would like to hit the chair, but she didn't want to hurt anyone.” Although he admitted that the repetitions in slow chamber could have worsened, Rikishi reaffirmed his belief that the Jax technique was not adequate.
Rikishi even gave a advice to Jax : “Nia, if you are listening to me, the next time you grab that chair, that's fine. Make a damn blow with that chair like Babe Ruth. I want you to do it big. And if someone complains, well, this is the game in which we are. If you can not make a blow with a chair, you are in the wrong business.”
Despite his hard criticism, Rikishi showed a more comprehensive side, recognizing that emotions may have played a role in Jax's performance.
“Who knows the emotion? Is this a friend? What I say is that you have to get that out of your head when you are acting.”
Rikishi balanced his hard love with a wink to safety within the ring and added:
“If I hit you with a chair, I will hit you with it, but it does not mean that I am angry with you. We have to protect what we have.”
