Roman Reigns got involved in the main story of WWE in 2020 when he formed The Bloodline. AEW Bobby Lashley, former member of The Hurt Business in the headquarters in Stamford, would have liked to see his faction face the Reigns group.

Lashley united forces with Cedric Alexander, MVP and Shelton Benjamin in RAW in 2020. The group separated in 2021 after The All Mighty focused their attention on the WWE championship. They later gathered before separating again in 2022.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Lashley said he wanted fans to have witnessed The Bloodline vs. The Hurt Business:

“When The Bloodline was starting, I think it could have been a small great synergy between the two. I mean, we were at all levels. Me and Roman, and then The Uses and then was Shelton and Cedric. It could have been a fun fight. And then Paul Heyman and MVP was, we can all sit a second, let them fight for a while, see what happens. (1:17:06 – 1:17:29)

Lashley and Reigns had already had a fief as individual competitors in 2018. They also met in a triple threat struggle with Big E in 2021 after The Bloodline and The Hurt Business were formed. However, the contest did not give rise to a rivalry between the two groups.

Bobby Lashley explains why WWE fans liked The Hurt Business

Although The Hurt Business performed mainly like Heels, the faction was popular among many fans. Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin recently reformed the group, now known as The Hurt Syndicate, in AEW.

Lashley believes that The Hurt Business resonated among WWE fans due to its authentic presentation:

“We all believed in others, so we worked as a group, and I think that group was so real that that's why people said: 'Man, I like this a lot', and it is very rare to see that in a group. You see many boys going down the ramp together and are all together, and you think: 'I don't think those boys don't even get together.” (1:16:12 – 1:16:29)

In the same interview, Lashley revealed how former WWE Vince McMahon president reacted to the unpopular story of his sisters in 2018.
