WWE performed a surprising maneuver by making Shinsuke Nakamura dismantle the Knight for the United States championship at the live event Survivor Series: Wargames Premium. Now, a report has thrown some light on why the title changed hands.
The King of Strong Style made his return to the headquarters in Stamford in the November 15, 2024 of SmackDown and immediately pointed to the Knight. The two stars had a round trip in Survivor Series before Nakamura connected a Kinshasa for victory. This is his third reign as champion of the United States.
According to Dave Meltzer in Wrestling Observerthe victory of the Japanese star was “promoted” in Noah before her fight against Ulka Sasaki at The New Year 2025 event of the promotion on January 1.
“Shinsuke Nakamura's victory for the American title received a lot of advertising in Noah because the combat Nakamura vs. Ulka Sasaki will take place in Noah's 1/1 show at the Budokan Hall,” said Meltzer.

He added that The Mega Star “was no longer a puppy” and will be “pissed off” by the decision. The former WWE personality also felt that Knight may not have a prominent role in the predictable future.
