Rey Mysterio is easily one of the greatest legends of the industry and has been involved in a heated rivalry with Dominik Mysterio in recent years. When WWE asked him to choose a team for Survivor Series, he had some interesting names in mind.
The star has had a fairly unhealthy relationship with her son, Dominik Mysterio, over the years. Dominik betrayed his father to join Judgment Day and, since then, the two have been at war with each other in an intermittent rivalry. Therefore, it was surprising that, when he was asked to choose stars for his dream team of Survivor Series, Rey Mysterio appointed his son, as well as another legend of the past, Andre The Giant.
When asked about his team, Mysterio told the WWE that he would like to form a team with Andre The Giant and Bret Hart and also bring back one of his greatest allies turned into rivals, Batista. He chose Andre because he felt that, although there was a surprising height difference between the two, he would work in his favor.
“My first choice would be Bret Hart, just because it is the best there is, the best one that has been and the best there will be. My second choice would be Andre The Giant, and Andre The Giant just because I am the smallest of the team. So I need the biggest team. Powerhouse. My third choice would undoubtedly be Against me, it was not great. (1:02 – 1:38)
Rey Mysterio also acknowledged that having Dominik Mysterio on his team would also make him well, given how useful it would be.
“Last, but not less important, I hate this, but I would have to choose the dirtiest player in the game, Dirty Dominik. I know if we needed someone to blame, it would be Dirty Dom. It would be the mysterious team.” (1:39 – 1:57)
Rey Mysterio called Dominik Mysterio the dirtiest player in the game, a name used by another WWE legend
While Dominik Mysterio has continued the legacy of a legend Eddie Guerrero, the dirtiest player in the game is the name of another WWE legend: Ric Flair.
Both Flair and Mysterio have used Heel tactics sometimes to get where they are, but at the end of the day, Mysterio has more in common with Guerrero than Flair.
