

A former WWE superstar has revealed that he requested his release from the headquarters in Stamford. Ricardo Rodríguez declared in a new interview that he requested his release, and Vince McMahon and Triple H granted it in 2014.
Ricardo Rodríguez's career in World Wrestling Entertainment lasted approximately four years between 2010 and 2014. He is mainly remembered for his passage as a personal announcer of the Ring of the River, but also worked as a fighter in the World Wrestling Giant.
In a new interview with Chris van Vliet, Ricardo Rodríguez spoke about his departure in 2014. He recalled his conversation with the then senior director of relations with the talent of the WWE, Mark Carrano.
“I said: 'Hello, I'm still at home. I'm not going,' he asked me: 'Are you okay?' And I said: 'Yes, I have tried to talk to you several times, but there are no results.'
Carrano then spoke with McMahon and Triple H about Ricardo and decided to grant him liberation.
“He told me: 'Okay, stay at home. Let me talk to Vince and Hunter and I will call you later.' I said: 'Great, it's not much.'
Ricardo Rodríguez's career after his departure from the WWE
Ricardo Rodríguez fought again in the independent circuit after his release in the WWE was granted. He also worked for AEW as a commentator in Spanish and appeared in a recording.
Rodríguez still fights occasionally in the independent circuit. His last fight took place on October 31, 2024 at the JCW Lunacy – Train of Terror Tour: Hallowicked event. That night, he formed team with Wolf Mecha and lost against Matt Cross and Willie Mack.
