During an interview with The New York Post Jon Moxley talked about his current history in AEW and his hopes for the future of the company.
Moxley says that he considers August 28, 2024, the day he returned from a hip injury, such as the “zero day” and that AEW has been receiving a “complete restart” since then. It seems to refer to both history and after racks.
“I have a dream, a vision, something I can see,” said Moxley. “I see a world where everyone succeeds, where everyone can succeed, where talents are encouraged and their growth is encouraged, and talents are prepared for success and growth to be what they can be, where their strengths are put in the foreground and are used, and we extract their value from them and give them the opportunity to be what they can be.”
Moxley talked about an incident at the beginning of this year when a “person behind the stage” said something that led him to believe that AEW is not doing enough to develop his talent.
“This individual said: 'Well, it is the lower part of the poster; it doesn't matter. It's the bottom; it doesn't matter,” Moxley said. “Do you imagine that?
“All those who are on top were at some point in the background. This is how you work. You go up the stairs. You see a lot of frustration and confusion in some of these talents because there is no damn staircase. They do not know what to do. They are like wandering through the desert. We are going to grab them by the shoulders and we will walk them.”
Moxley continued to say that it is not time for AEW to celebrate despite having recently signed a new media rights agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery. Instead, Moxley says that signing the agreement is just an opportunity for the company.
