A day laborer passed away this Monday afternoon while working in the harvest of the fruit on a farm of Alcarràs, in the Lerida region of the Segrià, as the Catalan agència de Notícies (ACN) has advanced.
The Mossos d'Esquadra went to the farm a few minutes after the storm began to get dizzy and be bad, about 4:45 p.m. in the afternoon, in the middle of the heat wave and with temperatures close to 41 degrees in the municipality.
The d'Antenciès Mèdiques (SEM) system traded to the farm, located next to the Vallmanya road, but when the man arrived he did not present vital signs and could not revive him.
The Mossos have explained that now the results of the autopsy are being pending to clarify accurately the causes of death and determine scientifically if it is a work accident.
The death of this field worker adds to the deaths of workers due to heat blows that have occurred in recent days in Andalusia, where a 61 -year -old woman who worked on public roads in Cádiz, and a 22 -year -old boy in Jaén died.
The Ombudsman maintains an ex officio action regarding the deaths of heat workers, after several deaths that have occurred since the beginning of this summer, such as Montse's, cleaning worker in Barcelona. Together, labor deaths increased to 796 people in 2024.
