Tragedy and mourning in Catalan football by the Mueye Bourama Diakite, Base technician Lleida Soccer Club and EU Balàfia. The young man has lost his life at age 20 after drowning as he bathed in a swamp in Alcarràs. The news of his death has caused enormous shock among his teammates and in general in the world of football.
The Lleida CF published a message in his social networks in which he deeply regretted his loss and shared “our deepest condolences with his family and friends.” The Catalan Football Federation also issued a statement, where it remembered that “from very small he had played in clubs in the area.”

The FCF wants to move its most sincere affection for the people closest to the player as well as all the members of the CF Lleida. Since childhood he has played clubs in the area such as CF Pardinyes, CE FIF Lleida and was currently a Juvenile player of the CF Lleida, ”the Federation published.
The young man drowned on Sunday afternoon while bathing in a swamp in Alcarràs. Bourama Diakite, coach of the Lleida Football Club and Amateur Player of the EU Balàfia, had previously in the youth of Lleida, where he was currently part of the coaching staff, and had also militated in other clubs such as the CF Pardinyes, FIF Lleida and EU Bordeta.
The emergency services received the notice at 6:27 p.m. on Sunday that a young man could not leave the water, and unfortunately Bourama Diakite ended up dying due to drowning in the aforementioned swamp. This is the first deadly victim in interior waters of the province since the summer campaign began on June.
