In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling Alberto del Río reflected on his positive relationship with the former president of the WWE Vince McMahon when asked about the possibility of returning. He mentioned that he used to have a good relationship with McMahon, but since McMahon is no longer in charge, Del Río is not sure how things are with current leadership.
“I don't know. A few years ago, the last time we talked, I said yes because everyone knows it, I was always in good terms with man (Vince McMahon), but man is no longer there, so I don't know how the situation is today in regards to the people who directs the company.”

While he doesn't know if he will return, he expressed his desire to retire at WWE one day. He pointed out that he has been working hard, especially during the last 16 months, and expects the company to recognize its efforts. Del Río shared that his biggest dream is to have a last race at WWE and retire after a fight against one of his favorite fighters.
