All Elite Wrestling's star (AEW), Jamie Hayter, surprised fans with their triumphal return to the quadrilaterals during the All In event at the Wembley stadium, having been absent for 15 months due to a serious injury.
The last time Hayer had competed before his return surprise in London was in Double Or Nothing 2023, where he lost Aew's female title against Toni Storm in a fight that lasted only three minutes. During that time outside the ring, Hayter faced one of the most difficult challenges of his career due to two herniated albums on his back, a condition that did not know until after a parachute jump.
In a recent interview in “Close Up With Renee Paquette”, Hayter shared details about his experience of being away from the ring, describing her as “a lonely place” and “an uncomfortable place.”
“It is a lot of inner work, something I had never done before,” he admitted.

Hayter compared his recovery time with the difficult days of the pandemic, remembering how, at that time, he was in the United Kingdom, without economic resources and with a great desire to be part of AEW. Despite finally reaching his dream of joining the company, he was forced to start over from scratch due to his injury.
What most surprised Hayter already his fans was how he realized the seriousness of his injury. Initially, he thought that the pain he experienced was simply sciatic, a common condition among fighters due to constant physical effort. He continued fighting and training, ignoring the symptoms. However, it was after a parachute jump on his birthday when he realized that something was really bad.
“After paratrooidism, the pain was unbearable, and that was when I realized that I was more serious than I thought,” he confessed.
This experience led her to a point where she could hardly walk. Throughout his recovery, Hayter had to undergo an intense physical therapy program, but surprisingly, he did not require surgery. This rehabilitation period was not only a physical, but also emotional and psychological challenge. The fight to stay optimistic and work hard in his recovery without guarantees to return to the ring was a process that made her deeply reflected on her life and career.
“It was like starting over from scratch, but this time with a stronger purpose,” said AEW's fighter, reflecting her determination and her ability to overcome adversities.
