Alcaraz finished Sinner's reign

The winner of the US Open final against Jannik Sinner, the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz recovered the first place of the ATP classification, according to the ranking published Monday.

In 2022, coinciding with the first title of Alcaraz in New York and the first Grand Slam of his career, the Spanish tennis player, who was then 19, became the youngest N.1 in history.

Three years later and after 65 weeks of reign of Sinner, Alcaraz unbank the Italian of the Throne of World Tennis and confirms the overwhelming domain of both players in the circuit.

Both have distributed the last eight titles of the Grand Slam (four for each) and have starred in the last three finals, with two titles for Alcaraz (Roland Garros and US Open) and one for SINNER (Wimbledon).

In the ATP classification, the third, the German Alexander Zverev, is distanced from SINNER in 4,850 points.

The veteran Novak Djokovic, who in New York reached the semifinals for 53rd occasion in 80 participations in a Grand Slam, wins three positions and is placed fifth.

The great jump is taken by Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, defeated by Sinner in the semifinals of the US Open, which with that result gets into the top 20 after winning 14 places (13th).

On the contrary that the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who continues to accumulate bad results and is already 18th in the ranking, despite having started the year as N.5.
