The lawyer who got the journalist Maribel Vilaplana to testify as a witness in the dana case has asked the investigating judge to require the ticket for the parking lot to which President Carlos Mazón accompanied her after the long meal at the El Ventorro restaurant on October 29, according to a letter to which elDiario.es has had access. The head of the Consell, according to his latest version of events, accompanied Vilaplana to a parking lot near the establishment.
The lawyer Ximo Esteve, who exercises one of the private accusations in the case, considers that “in light of the recent information” about the “new chronology offered” by Mazón and Vilaplana, it would be appropriate to require the journalist on November 3, the day of her statement as a witness, to “provide ticket or tickets for the parking of her vehicle” in the Glorieta-Paz parking lot in València on the afternoon of Friday.
The lawyer goes even further and requests that “as a subsidiary matter, in the event of the loss of said ticket, or not having it, the company that manages the parking lot be required” to provide the license plate identification number of the vehicle with which it was in the parking lot that day. All of this “so that this person can provide the aforementioned ticket or report of entry and exit of the vehicle with the registered license plate number,” the letter adds.
On October 23, the second section of the Provincial Court of Valencia ordered journalist Maribel Vilaplana to testify in the case. The investigating judge, a few hours after the order of the Valencia Court, summoned Vilaplana to testify.
On the other hand, the same accusation requests that the investigated Salomé Pradas be summoned again, considering that it is “necessary” for the investigation that the former councilor “clarify questions of extraordinary relevance”, due to the “information that is obtained both in court and through journalistic information.”
In the event that the judge “does not consider said appearance to be appropriate,” the prosecution exercised by Esteve “reserves” the right to request it “later.”
