After the classification to the final of the Copa América and the ticket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the Colombian women's team coach, Ángelo Marsiglia, highlighted the team's ability to surpass the initial doubts and grow throughout the tournament.

“The resilient that was the selection after such a big bump,” said the DT, referring to the lazy start to Venezuela. “After many people did not believe to see a country enjoying a step to the final, a step to the Olympics, it fills us and strengthens us,” he added.

Colombia beat Argentina on penalties (5-4) after a goalless draw in regulatory time. In that sense, Marsiglia was self -critical with the performance in the first 45 minutes, in which the team lost the initiative.

“We lost the ball in that first half, we gave practically 45 minutes and cannot happen again because surely in the final they will charge us,” he warned. Despite the domain in the second half, the coach made it clear that the team must improve in decision -making and rhythm control.

Thinking about the final, which will be played against Brazil or Uruguay, the Colombian coach insisted on the importance of adapting to the real dynamics of the party, beyond the initial plan. “We have analyzed what Brazil can be or what can be Uruguay, but one thing is what one plans for the game and another thing is how it occurs,” he explained.

For Marsiglia, the reaction capacity will be key to face an opponent who, whatever, will come with different demands that Argentina proposed.

Finally, the DT referred to the role of Katherine Tapia, the figure of the night, with a firm defense and a penalty for the batch. “People did not believe in it,” Marsiglia recalled.
