The State Commission Against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sports, popularly known as antiviolence, has proposed to sanction 17 citizens for the incidents that occurred in different stages of the cycling return to Spain 2025. Fines range between 3,000 and 4,000 euros and include the prohibition of access to sporting events for a period of six months.
These files correspond to actions of the National Police and the Civil Guard in the Laredo-Los Corrales de Buelna (stage 12), Avilés-La Farrapona (stage 14) and Aveiga-Monfort de Lemos (stage 15).
The main cycling championship in Spain lived protests during a good number of its stages, but for the moment it is unknown if more sanctions will be applied in other territories apart from Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia.
On the other hand, Antiviolence has proposed a sanction of 4,000 euros and a prohibition of access to sports enclosures for 12 months to a real Oviedo fan accused of uttering racist insults to Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius junior, Real Madrid players.
The infraction was detected in the 37th minute of the match, when the cameras captured a male located at the North Fund of the Carlos Tartiere stadium that made “bodily gestures of imitation of a monkey” and that was later identified by the National Police as a member of an ultra group of the local team. On September 6 he was arrested and the Court of Instruction 1 of Oviedo investigates whether there is a crime.
In 2024 three young fans of Valencia have already sentenced to eight months in prison and two years without entering stadiums for dedicating racist insults to Vinícius.
