The Football Club Barcelona announced on Wednesday that it will return to the Camp Nou stadium – in renewal for two years – on August 10, on the occasion of the Joan Gamper trophy, which traditionally serves as a presentation of the team for the season that begins.

“Barcelona officially announces the return to its stadium, the Spotify Camp Nou, on August 10, 2025, a date that will mark the partial reopening of the new Barca home within the project of transformation of Espai Barça,” the club said in a statement.

The Catalan team has not played a meeting in its field since May 2023. Since then, the Barca team has played at home at the Olympic Lluís Companys in Montjuic, which despite having a good capacity (55,936 spectators), does not compare to the capacity that the new stadium already finished will have.

The Barcelona entity has not confirmed the amount of audiences with which Camp Nou can count for the first clashes of the next season, but the local press reports that the first two stands can host about 35,000 spectators.

“It should be noted that the return will occur while the works of the new Spotify Camp Nou continue, so it will be necessary to live with actions in different areas of the enclosure,” the note said. After the Joan Gamper, Barça will have another month to continue the tuning of the stadium.

The Catalan club, which asked LaLiga to play its first three games away from home, stressed that the new third stand, the double VIP ring, the installation of the roof, as well as the final adaptation of some interior spaces and the exterior urbanization of the surroundings of the stadium remains.
