The WWE Bayley star admitted surprisingly that getting the United States Women's Championship is not its main objective in the company. The former Damage Ctrl leader is competing in the tournament to determine the female opening title of the United States, and the finals will take place next month.
In an interview with Brad Gilmore in CW 39 HoustonThe Role Model shared that he pressed a lot to introduce the female couples championship in the WWE and that he was not going to stop until it happened.
The veteran however said that she did not press so much for the United States Women's Championship, but that the division was ready for it since it was necessary for fighters who are not part of the star scene. He also said that there is still a lot of work to do with the division of female couples.
“With this, they are more than I would say in the interviews, and that is just because I think we can take a secondary title like that. The division is ready for that. But I also wanted to see the title of female couples grow. It was difficult to say that I want another title when I still think there is so much work to do with the titles in pairs,” he said.
Bayley Choose Winner in Hypothetical Combat between two great WWE stars
The SmackDown star, Bayley, recently revealed who would choose to win if the champions in female couples Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair faced an individual struggle in WWE.
In an exclusive interview with Bill Apter earlier this year, Bayley revealed that he would choose Bianca Belair to defeat Jade Cargill in an individual fight due to his experience in the ring. However, he suggested that he could have a different response in a couple of years if they asked him the same question.
“If this fight is carried out, I will have to choose Bianca, and that is just because she has had many fights with me. She has learned from the best! She, in the end, has more experience that Jade Cargill at this time, and maybe that does not happen in a couple of years from now on if that combat will take place today. But I will have to choose The Est.” (From 03:07 to 03:28)
Bayley defeated B-Fab and Candice Lerae last Friday night at WWE SmackDown in a triple Threat Match to advance the tournament for the United States Women's Championship.
It will be interesting to see if Bayley can win the tournament in the coming weeks to become the first women's women's champion in the history of WWE.
