The United States Women's National Team was proclaimed this Sunday champion of the World after beating Australia (88-76) in the final of the championship played in the Czech Republic, in which Spain hung the bronze after imposing itself in the final of consolation to Canada (70-68). Two of the US team players were included in the ideal tournament quintet, the Saniyah Hall escort, chosen MVP, and the Sienna Betts wing.

The latter, who is considered the second best player in the United States of her generation, is the daughter of an old acquaintance of the Spanish fans, a player who in the first dozen years of this century passed through Real Madrid, Tau Vitoria, the Joventut, the Cajasol Sevilla and the Lagun Aro GBC. We refer to the British pivot Andrew Betts, which is now 48 years old.

Before playing in Spain, Betts, 2.18, formed basketball in the United States, specifically at the University of Long Beach State, where he knew what would later become his wife, Michelle, a player of the volleyball team. Already married, Michelle accompanied Betts in his European career. In Vitoria (2003) they had their first daughter, Lauren, U19 -year -old world champion in the World Cup debrecan with Caitlin Clark, and three years later (2006) Sienna was born in Barcelona, during the Betts stage in the Joventut. Lauren and Sienna have a younger brother, Dylan, 15 years old and 2.18, who is also in US selection dynamics.

Sienna, 18 years old and 1.93 of stature, has closed the Brno World Cup with averages of 14.6 points, 10 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.1 caps and 21 valuation. Its physical power makes it a very difficult player to defend it because it joins great effectiveness near basket (58.7% field shots in the World Cup) and a great vision of the game.
