The Colombian Flying Disco Federation (FECODV) was legally constituted less than 10 years ago and in January 2018, the recognition of the Administrative Department of Sports, Recreation, Physical Activity and the use of free-collest time, today Mindort, received for the first time.
It has worked especially thanks to the support of those who practice these discipline in some of their modalities and, of course, to their parents, who remain their main sponsors.
Since its creation, FECODV has been led by Ana Rosa Rodríguez Hernández, denounced this week for the misuse of money for the participation of national, male, female and mixed selections, in the Ultimate WFDF Under-24 World Championship (World Flying Disc Federation) 2025.
For that event, the entity did not manage support from Mindortes and the Colombian Olympic Committee, which are responsible for evaluating its technical quality and if they consider it to support the preparation and participation of the country, as they have done on other occasions.
It was then the parents of the 60 athletes who assumed the costs of transport, food and lodging of the tournament held in Logroño, Spain, since June 20. Each one consigned to the Federation a figure close to $ 15 million pesos.
Already in full competition the problems began because Fecodv breached the payments that the restaurant in charge of the food of the athletes should do.
According to the relatives of the young people, Ana Rodríguez has explained that he has had problems of blocked accounts and has barely been able to make partial fertilizers. Today, the debt exceeds $ 49 million.
“She got the issue of hands, she doesn't even have the clear accounts,” explains a family father who also clarifies that on other occasions, on trips to the United States and Australia, “there were setbacks, but they resolved. The thing about this time was the cover.”
The situation generated enormous discomfort among the members of the delegation, led by the Secretary of FECODV, Aura María Sandoval Pérez. The group was divided and obviously lost the sports focus on the tournament. For the coaching staff the situation was also complicated because there is a pending balance at the hotel where you stay.
Last Tuesday, the Colombian Olympic Committee asked Ana Rodriguez and the leader said there were limitations in transfers and with digital platforms, but three days later he has not solved the setback.
In a virtual meeting with several parents of the athletes and the presidents of the departmental leagues, the leader acknowledged that some monies had been used for other FECODV expenses, which is why there will be an extraordinary assembly next week.
The championship ends this Sunday and with the efforts of families, athletes can return to the country, not full of medals as they dreamed, but of debts. Meanwhile, the COC and the Inspection, Surveillance and Control Directorate of Mindport have already launched an investigation to determine those responsible and punish them.
In the background, in addition to the misuse of resources, there is an internal struggle for power in FECODV, which forced some people recently linked to the Federation, to step aside.
The protests of athletes
In their social media accounts, flying album athletes complained about the situation: “We, the athletes of the Colombia Sub-24 women's team female, male and mixed categories we publicly express our decision of protest, disagreement and deep concern against the repeated and serious actions of the president of the Colombian Federation of Flying Disco (FECODV), Ana Rosa Rodríguez, during the process Sub-24 in Logroño, Spain.
These facts have directly affected our well -being, that of our coaches and the delegation of the delegation that represents the country in an international tournament.
We denounce:
1. Failure to pay the food provider, leaving the players without the service, although it was the athletes themselves who economically assumed their participation expenses.
2. Failure to pay per diem and delays in the purchase of tickets for the coaching and medical body.
3. Failure to pay the payment dates of the members of the coaching staff.
4. Improper pressure to the food supplier, who was sent a video requesting silence about what happened.
5. Lack of payment to previous process services providers.
6. Repeated lies to parents and guardians, including: falsely affirm that coaches are threatening players, send false payment vouchers; alleging that bank platforms were fallen or blocked accounts, when after providing a new option of
The athletes decided to play the last duels of the tournament with the Federation logo covered in their uniforms, because they do not feel represented by their leadership.
In the sports aspect, the performance of Colombia's teams was as follows:
Male: 10 games played, seven cattle and three losses.
FEMALE: Eight games played, four cattle and four losses.
Mixed: eight games played, eight losses.
