When CM Punk returned to World Wrestling Entertainment at the end of 2023, the only thing he claimed to leave behind was the problem with the company's content director, Triple H. They were rivals on the screen at one time and were originally scheduled to face in Wrestlemania in 2014, the year in which Punk left the WWE exhausted.
With a rich story between the best in the world and the former nine -time WWE champion, the wrestling veterans Konnan and Disco Inferno were asked in the last episode of their podcast: who was the best fighter of the two?
In an interview with Keepin’ It 100Konnan agreed that, unlike many athletes of the new generation, which apparently focus more on large movements, CM Punk functions as a character. The veteran revealed that Punk resonates with him due to his rebel nature:
“CM Punk is a very interesting character for me because he was a rebel. And a rebel from those who move away, too, who left the company. I have always been a rebel, and I think fans like the fact that he was rebellious,” Konnan said, making comparisons with the character of Stone Cold Steve Austin.
In addition, Konnan said that Chicago's native had a great return, pointing out his successful fief with Drew McIntyre in 2024. Based on all this, the veteran feels that the 46 -year -old WWE superstar will surpass Triple H as a general interpreter in the business.
“And he could fight and speak. But I would say that, in general, Triple H has had great classic fighting. It's good with the microphone, in general, do you know what I say? I will have to choose Hunter. But cm punk has had a great return. The story of Drew McIntyre, now he is with The Bloodline. For years, The Best in the World has been compared to Stone Cold Steve Austin for its similarity of nature. Despite their interest to face, the stars never aligned to schedule a fight at the WWE.
Three years ago, Steve Austin left his retirement to dispute a unique fight with Kevin Owens. However, Austin made things clear later, saying that if the right story was presented, a couple of boots would put on again.
Meanwhile, Punk recently answered the question of whether a first fight between the two at this stage is possible. According to The Straight Edge Superstar, all that the WWE legend has to do is call it.
