CM Punk has been very vocal about his dream of leading Wrestlemania for the first time in his career in WWE. The member of the Bully Ray Hall of Fame recently proposed a scenario that would see the saint of the second city fulfill his dream.
Last Saturday, the 46 -year -old fighter competed in the Royal Rumble Male. However, he failed to win since Jey use emerged victorious. After its elimination, it had an alteration with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins on the edge of the ring. Rumors later suggested that the company could be planning a triple Threat among the three superstars in Wrestlemania. In the Podcast Busted Open, Bully Ray acknowledged the possibility that Punk will face Reigns and Rollins in the show shows. He suggested that John Cena could win the elimination Chamber and challenge Cody Rhodes in Wrestlemania, the member of the WWE Hall of Fame later pointed out that this scenario could lead to CM Punk to collect the favor that Paul Heyman must ask The Wiseman to include him in the main event of Wrestlemania between the leader of the Cenation and The American Nightmare, turning it into a triple Threat:
“We can sit here and think about Punk, Roman, Seth. What is the favor? Are we going to wait until after Wrestlemania for this favor? What is the favor? The favor is: Met me in the stellar event of Wrestlemania. And now the main event becomes Cody, dinner, punk,” he said. (7:54 – 8:22)
WWE ex-writer thinks that cm punk should lead Wrestlemania 41
Speaking in The Coach & Bro Show, the former main writer of WWE Vince Russo predicted that the company based in Stamford would reserve CM Punk at the main event of Wrestlemania 41.
The wrestling veteran said that Triple H and his creative team would have to make that decision due to the age and injury history of The Second City Saint:
“They have to pay the privilege that CM Punk goes to a star event in Wrestlemania. You can't wait because Punk is aging, Punk is always injured. So, I think Punk will win the elimination chamber and face Cody Rhodes in Wrestlemania,” he said.
It will be interesting to see if CM Punk will indeed lead the showcase of the immortors this year.
