On one of the most intense nights of the year at WWE, CM Punk achieved what seemed impossible: dethrone the imposing Gunther and proclaim yourself new World Heavyweight Champion. Although joy lasted little.
After a physical and emotional battle, the so -called “Best in the World” survived a true beating by the Austrian, who punished him with brutal chops, surrender keys and powerful bombings. However, Punk resisted until two consecutive GTS connect to achieve three.
►The celebration was brief
While Punk was barely standing with the belt in the hands, the sand exploded with the cry of “Burn It Down.” Seth Rollins appeared on the scenepretending to be injured and helped by crutches. But it was all part of a hoax: he left the crutches, ran to the ring and boundly attacked CM Punk using the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Rollins made his exchange effective and, with a stomp Demolor, he achieved the victory in seconds. Seth Rollins became the new World Heavyweight Championclosing the night with a surprise betrayal and a direct mockery towards Punk, whom he left on the canvas.
Thus, in a matter of minutes, gold changed hands twice, leaving fans in shock and raising the rivalry between Rollins and Punk to a new level.
